I'm Jacob Chenevert. I'm a husband, father, software developer, gamer, gym rat and the founder of ProgressBar Fitness.

I've been taking health and the gym seriously for most of my life. My parents helped me start learning about nutrition and building muscle early on and I ran with it. I started doing push-ups and sit-ups at about 11 years old. I kept in shape lifting weights and eventually joined the wrestling team at my high school. After graduating, I dove deeper into lifting and bodybuilding, which I've stuck to for around 12 years now.

I have a few passions in life: the gym, software and gaming. I fill progress bars on all three every day. That's what inspired me to bring those things together and create ProgressBar Fitness, a new fitness platform designed to help you fill up your own personal progress bars, whatever those may be. Lose fat, gain muscle, feel better, look better, we've got them all covered with our self-guided plans.

Just pick the one that feels right for you. All you need to do is put in the work, record your results and the next step will be prepped behind the scenes for you as you go, so your plan can keep progressing with you. ProgressBar does the math for your next workout.

Something I've learned after all these years is that the effort put in is the driving force behind change. My training philosophy is built around this concept. Strong effort drives results. Good strategy ensures that effort is pointed in the right direction. At ProgressBar, you bring the effort and we bring the strategy. You don't need a PhD or a decade of experience, just willingness to put in the effort; we handle the strategy.

We understand that real life makes it hard for everything to fit perfectly, fitness included. Sometimes you'll be super busy and only have one day to lift this week, maybe you're going on vacation and only have a tiny hotel gym (our condolences!), or maybe you're just dreading a specific exercise every week because that machine is always taken ... that's where coaching comes in: your own personal coach reviewing your training, adjusting your plan around whatever life throws at you, and keeping your progress moving forward. Between weekly video call check-ins and direct messaging to your coach for one-off questions, someone will always be in your corner.

I spend most of my days working on progress bars and filling them up. Even when the bar for this platform was just a sliver of the way full, I couldn't wait to keep stacking the progress until it became something that could help people achieve their goals, including my own. I am very proud to use my own platform to track my workouts and nutrition and see that progress for myself. I'm excited to have you join ProgressBar, so you can start seeing your own work add up too.

See you at the bar! (Barbell, of course.)
